Fire Department The Orange City Fire Department was established in 1890. Now with over 120 years of service, the department is still proudly committed to serving and safeguarding the community’s lives and property. To do this, the Department is dedicated to reducing the impact of fire, medical emergencies, potential disasters, and uncontrolled events that affect the community's environment. Additionally, the department provides fire prevention education and CPR instruction.

The Fire Department is under the direction of Fire Chief Herb Hoffman Jr., who oversees three Divisions and other staff roles: Operations (EMS, Training, and Maintenance) Fire Prevention, and Support. Presently, there are 14 Career Firefighters, and 30 dedicated volunteer and reserve members assigned to Station 67 at North Holly Avenue, and Station 68 at Harley Strickland Blvd.

The members and employees consist of Firefighters, Paramedics, Officers and Administrative staff. The department has an ALS engine staffed with a Lieutenant and two firefighters (one being a Paramedic) 24 hours a day, and a second engine staffed with a Paramedic and Firefighter 24 hours a day.

The department’s Fire Prevention Division is managed by a Captain/Fire Marshal and a Fire-safety Inspector.
