Police Department: Patrol Officers

Patrol officers are frequently the first to respond to calls for service throughout the City. They are the most visible police presence in our community and it is their job to provide primary law enforcement services to the public 24 hours each and every day of the year.

Patrol officers are trained to quickly respond, assess, and manage all manner of police-related incidents. Whether it's a simple assist of a stranded motorist or a response to a major crime, our officers provide the key element in public safety and preservation of community peace. The officers assigned to Patrol represent 75% of the Department's total strength of 22.

To keep skills sharp, and to enhance each officer's major working knowledge, comprehensive training is provided on a regular basis.

Added to the patrol force are the Volunteers in Police Service program.
