Required Steps for filling out applications:
- Please complete all sections of the employment application thoroughly. Please Do Not fill in the blanks on the application with "see resume". Sign and date your application.
- Applications must be returned by the closing date stated on the job posting.
- If you are applying for more than one job, leave a separate copy of your application for each position.
- Be patient. It may take up to two months to complete the selection process. This time frame will vary depending on the type of position and the number of applications to review.
- Human Resources reviews the applications to determine who meets the minimum qualifications of a position. The applications are then reviewed by the department head, which then chooses the best-qualified candidates for assessment testing and / or testing. Based upon the qualifications and assessment scores, if applicable, interviews are scheduled with top candidates.
- Following the interview process, the candidate chosen to fill the position is contacted. A conditional offer of employment is made contingent on the results of pre-employment screening (i.e. physical and drug screening). No job offer is complete without the approval of the City Manager.
Applications for employment must be made on the City's official Application form. Resumes by themselves do not satisfy this requirement but may be attached to the application form. Please provide as much detail about your work history as possible and attach additional sheets as necessary.
Paper copies of the application may be picked up at Town Hall, 205 E. Graves Avenue, Orange City between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
